How to Prep Your Daytona Beach Home for a Listing Photo Shoot

A great photographer can only work with what’s in the room. Before your Hous Photo shoot anywhere in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, or Volusia County, a few minutes of prep makes a real difference in how the finished photos turn out — and how fast the listing moves.

The night before

• Clear kitchen and bathroom counters down to two or three items
• Put away pet bowls, litter boxes, leashes, and toys
• Make every bed and close closet doors
• Tuck away trash cans, hoses, and yard tools
• Mow the lawn and clear extra vehicles from the driveway

The morning of the shoot

• Turn on every interior light, including lamps, even in daylight
• Open blinds and curtains, angled to avoid harsh shadows
• Turn off ceiling fans and TVs (motion and screens don’t photograph well)
• Remove cars from the driveway and street directly in front of the house
• Set the thermostat somewhere comfortable — the crew will be there 30-60 minutes

A few things agents forget

Toilet lids down, shower curtains pulled closed or removed, and remotes/chargers out of sight make a bigger difference than most sellers expect. If a pool or dock is part of the listing, skim leaves and put away pool toys the morning of the shoot for the exterior and aerial shots.
