Floor Plans and Property Photos: Why Buyers Want Both
September 9, 2026Your headshot shows up on every listing, your MLS profile, business cards, and LinkedIn — it’s doing more marketing work than almost any other single photo you own, and it’s worth getting right.
What makes a headshot MLS-ready
Most MLS systems and brokerage templates crop tightly and display small, so a headshot needs strong contrast and a clean, uncluttered background to still read well at thumbnail size. Busy backgrounds or low-contrast lighting that looks fine on a phone screen often falls apart once it’s shrunk into an MLS listing card.
Consistency across platforms matters
Using the same headshot across your MLS profile, brokerage website, LinkedIn, and business cards builds recognition. A shoot that delivers a few consistent crops and backgrounds — rather than one single image — makes it easy to keep every platform matching.
How often to refresh
A good rule of thumb: reshoot every 2-3 years, or sooner if your appearance has changed enough that clients wouldn’t recognize you walking in for a showing.
